Spring is in full swing, and Hickory and its surrounding areas have an exciting lineup of events for April! Whether you're looking for family-friendly Easter activities or other fun events, there's something for everyone.
Celebrate the season with these festive Easter-themed events happening throughout the month:
Bring the whole family and enjoy this Easter Event hosted by NextHome Blue Skies! There will be scheduled egg hunts, games for all ages, door prizes, and free photos with the Easter Bunny!
Rain or shine from 2:30-5 PM for a free, safe, and fun celebration of Jesus' resurrection! Enjoy an Easter egg hunt, inflatables, an obstacle course, kids' games, face painting, and a petting zoo. Free food will be available, including hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and snow cones.
Spring is in the air, and the Easter Bunny is making a special stop at The Graceful Geese Mercantile! Bring the kids for an egg-stra special day filled with fun, smiles, and sweet memories!
Join Union Grove Baptist Church to welcome spring! There will be food, inflatables, games, face-painting, a photo-op, kids' craft, and more!
Join us on Saturday, April 12th, from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Maiden Park for Maiden's Largest Easter Egg Hunt! This free community event, hosted by churches across the Maiden area, features 10,000+ Easter eggs, bounce houses, face painting, food trucks (food available for purchase), and a kid-friendly DJ. Check-in starts at 3:00 PM, with egg hunts at 3:30 PM and 4:15 PM. To ensure safety, hunts are divided by age groups and take place in different areas of the park. Register in advance to secure a spot and help us plan for an amazing event!
The 38th Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 12, at Henry Fork River Park, hosted by the City of Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department. There will be four separate egg hunts based on age: 0-2 years at 6 PM, 3-4 years at 6:30 PM, 5-6 years at 7 PM, and 7-12 years at 8:15 PM. Participants should bring their own baskets, and those in the 8:15 PM hunt should bring a flashlight. No registration is required. Families can also enjoy photos with the Easter Bunny, Easter crafts, and other festive activities.
Come out for a day of family fun at our annual Easter Egg Hunt! We will have games, prizes, candy, crafts, and plenty of eggs. We will also have a hotdog lunch in our Family Life Building.
Join Mt. Zion for the annual Children’s Easter party. We will hear the Easter story, have games, activities, and crafts, enjoy photos with the Easter bunny, have snacks, and participate in an egg hunt.
FREE Event for kids 10 (and under) and their families. There is going to be inflatables, snacks, train rides and more. Bring your own Easter basket for an awesome egg hunt.
Victory Lanes & Toddler Play-dates and Holiday Events Group Present our 1st Easter Eggs, Hops & Shops Festival at Victory Lanes on April 12th from 11am - 3pm. This will be an outdoor event! Easter break is coming for Caldwell County schools and Roma and staff are ready to throw the best Easter Community Party with Bluey and Bingo! Friday April 18th join us for a day of fun, games, prize give-a-ways, inside egg hunt, professional Bluey photo set up with pictures, and meet and greet. This event is limited to dine in customers only due to spacing and allowing our guest a time to enjoy, eat, and be together. So mark your calendar and tag and share to invite everyone!

Hickory—it’s Rodeo time! Join us on
April 4th & 5th near the
Crawdads Stadium for two nights of thrilling rodeo action.
Nashville Recording Artist Velvet Rodeo will perform at
7 PM both nights. Gates open at 6:30 PM, and the show starts at 8 PM. Enjoy
bull riding, barrel racing, and bronc riding, plus
Mutton Bustin’ at 7 PM (sign up at the gate, 20 contestants per night, with a belt buckle for each champion).

The
inaugural Hickory Literary Festival will take place on
Saturday, April 12, from 11 AM to 5 PM on the
SALT Block, hosted by
Hickory Public Library. This
free, all-ages event celebrates
reading, writing, books, and creativity with a special performance by
Lucky Diaz. Attendees can enjoy a variety of
vendors, writing workshops, and literacy-focused activities throughout the day.
Story Time, followed by painting a ceramic carrot tray! Each child will receive their own figurine & can work by themselves or have the help of their guardian or staff member! As much time as needed can be spent painting. Once finished, the piece will remain at the studio to be fired & you'll be contacted once it's ready for pick-up!
We do this Spring Farm Festival every year to bring the community together and have a great time! We will have food trucks, face painting, pony rides, fairy hair, petting zoo, bounce houses, and much more!
The Multicultural Festival brings the Hickory community together to celebrate diversity through art, music, dance, food, and more. The event features cultural performances on Union Square, food trucks in the Lowes Foods City Park parking lot, and vendor booths under The Sails on the Square. The festival kicks off at 4 p.m. with the Hickory High School Marching Band Drumline, followed by opening comments and the Human Relations Awards presentation at 4:30 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the event will move indoors to Ridgeview Recreation Center (115 Seventh Avenue SW, Hickory, N.C. 28602).

Join the City of Hickory and the Community Appearance Commission for the fourth annual Green Fest on Saturday, April 26, at the Downtown Hickory Farmers Market. Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day while learning how to protect and preserve the environment. From 8 AM to 1 PM, visit the City’s booths for free potted trees (white dogwood, sourwood, sassafras, and black gum), milkweed seeds for monarch butterflies, vegetable and flower seeds, potted indoor plant starts, giveaways, and environmental stewardship information.
